Situated just north of Salt Lake City, Antelope Island has given wonder to visitors for thousands of years. Barren, wind-swept, and surrounded by essentially a dead sea, the island is curiously enough home to hundreds of species, including numerous migratory birds. The island enjoys the presence of its namesake, the antelope, as well as a healthy heard of American Bison.
In this image of a rock formation, the island is just beginning to waken after a long, harsh winter. Grasses are starting to turn green beneath fast-moving puffy springtime clouds.
