If you’ve seen much of my landscape photography, you probably know by now that my go-to destination is Southern Utah’s Snow Canyon State Park. The red rock is reminiscent of Moab, Utah and the park is readily accessible from the entire St. George area.
This sunset image is one I call “Chasing the Clouds Home,” and was made close to sunset on a blustery spring day during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Hiking and photography were my means of coping with the risk of COVID-19 (for a better understanding of my COVID-19 concerns, visit the fytcnr website to see my story).
One amazing thing about Snow Canyon is that an entirely new scene is always “just around the corner” or just behind the next rock formation. And with how the evening light varies, you could ultimately shoot from the same position, day after day, and still have entirely unique photos.
