Africa! What child didn’t dream of traveling the African savanna, watching big cats hunt and observing the circle of life captured in both the Great Migration as well as the birth/life/death cycle? I grew up on National Geographic and Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, and was mesmerized as Marlin Perkins and the crews tracked down animals and pushed forward conservation efforts.
In the ensuing 40 years (!!), we’ve made leaps and bounds in terms of preserving the African ecosystem. Yes, there is still plenty to be done. But the density and health of the animals we saw was astounding. From Tarangire to Ngorogoro to the Serengeti, wildlife was abundant. It was a sea of green grass and zebras!

Check out the blog to read more about the trip, from my preparation to the experiences. But for now, enjoy the wildlife!
